Slapping logos on all these pictures is REALLY time consuming. So I had to take a bit longer to get these blo posts done. Thanks for waiting around and enjoy this next round of shots of this show!
Pep Boys threw a GREAT free car show with free entry, complimentary water and chips. There was a terrific turnout that filled out the parking lot. There was great representation from Old School rides, hot roads, new muscle, dragsters, imports, low riders and trucks. Even though the day was extremely HUMID all attendants seemed to have had a great time and battled through the heat. Enjoy the coverage and click on the pictures to visit my Flickr page to see more of the rides at the show!
THE NICO’S TACO CREW THREW DOWN FOR THE SHOW AND BLEW OUT SOME BOMB TACOS!!
Due to my work schedule I was only able to attend this show one day. The overall quality of the show participants was terrific. A LOT of great restorations and original owners cars in attendance. I had a great time being able to take some shots of all the great rides!
I have a TON more photos on my FLICKR page. Please feel free to jump on over and check out the rest of my coverage of the show. ***CLICK ON ANY OF THE PICTURES TO CHECK OUT MY PHOTOSTREAM***
I am definitely not the usual Hot Wheels collector, as I do not need to have every car produced or ever series or the like. But every once in awhile I will spot something on the pegs that catches my eye or that I have seen online that I dig.
I picked up the most recent ’69 Camaro and BoneShaker from the Larrys Garage Hot Wheels Series:
And I also came across a new sub mainline series called Summer Racin’ So I grabbed a Mercedes SL55 AMG and a Go Kart:
I found the second color of the Dream Garage Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R
The ’08 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Concept Muscle Mania release is pretty dope. I dig the charcoal/graphite paint mixed with the electric blue trim:
This Tooned looking ’69 Chevelle is different…
This Mitsubishi Lancer Evo is pretty nice on the graphics side. I really dig the FTE version wheels!
And to round out the days finds I came across a ’57 Plymouth Fury Treasure Hunt
I came across some new models as well as new deco’s for existing cars. Just thought they would add well to my collection.
Datsun Bluebird 510
Ferrari F430 Spider
A little group shot including the 2009 deco version of the cockney cab and the Super Treasure Hunt Rockster.
And I nabbed these this morning
The newest test water line from Mattel is Larry Woods Garage. This line brings out Larry’s personal favorite cars and decorates them with very nice real rider rubber wrapped wheels, and very unique paint schemes. I really don’t like the domestic car side of things, but this mustang has a MEAN stance and attention to detail on this is top notch. The addition of a plastic base cheapens it a little but a metal bottom would have kicked ass! Either way this line is a nice refresher from the regular run of the mill bullshit Mattel has been trying to shove down thew throats of collectors in big box stores. I would even dare to say this is as nice or nicer than their RLC offerings.
Jada’s HEAT series has been around just as long as JADA Toys (the business name not business entirely, they were known as Best Toys Back in the day) They have continued to rock out the most popular castings in CHP “like” graphics schemes and in the original 1:24’s we saw some fire dept. schemes as well. ***WISH THOSE WOULD COME BACK!!!*** hint But yet another popular casting in the 1969 Chevy Camaro laced with the HEAT treatment.
