New family member added to our house

The girls have been clamoring lately about getting another animal, so we figured the best thing to do was rescue a cat. We put out alot of feelers for kittens. We visited the SPCA locally for shelter cats but their $120+ prices were pretty much out of our budget. So we got in contact with a local family that rescues kittens and delivers them fixed at a GREATLY cheaper cost. So SPARKY is a boy kitten that has been welcomed into our home. And boy does his character fits his name!

He is a very sleepy individual. But that is only because he is consistantly flying all over playing, chasing, and goofing off.

Zoo Atlanta Visit

We had a GREAT visit with my mom. One of our spontaneous things was visiting the Zoo Atlanta in downtown. The weather was great, the traffic cooperated, and there wasn’t a crowd. Plenty of time to see each animal habitat. A wonderful outing for this vacation getaway.

Our trip to the Georgia Aquarium

While we visited family in Georgia, we snuck down to the Georgia Aquarium for a visit. Although it is a VERY nice aquarium the crowds inside were crazy. And alot of the peoiple all decided to camp out in front of every window not wanting to move so other people could see the exhibits. Needless to say they ALL caught BOWS and were moved….

Gisselle’s School Field Trip to the Virginia ZOO

I was a little more excited for this field trip than Selle, hence I finally received my new lenses and this was a great opportunity to test them out. The morning started out stormy with thunder and lots of rain. But by departure time the storm was gone, sun was shining, and the temperatures were warm. Alma and I headed to the school and prepared to jump on the school buses to head toward the zoo (I love using school transportation so I don’t have to drive my own car!)

I was pleased how my lenses worked out, although I ruined a few shots for failing to keep the main lense clean. But all in all the following pictures will showcase the trip.

The kids waiting for the bus:

I am pretty good at catching the floral pics. Not bad with a wide angle lense.

This little guy Brian is always chatting it up with me everytime I visit Gisselle’s Class. Kinda sad to see him alone on parent involvement days. So I guess you can say he is my little sidekick when I visit. He likes my “big black thing” that takes his picture. Kinda like “magic” he says.

And last goodbye before spring break. Mrs. Hill: Gisselle’s regular bus driver. She is always good to Selle and us with her lookouts!

That was our day. We ALL came home and took well deserved naps!!

Our Norfolk Zoo Trip

This weekend we decided to visit The Norfolk Zoo. The weather was right for it. None of us had ever been there before so we decided to check it out.

The Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center

Well, today I figured we would make a family outing to the aquarium in Virginia Beach, seeing as how we haven’t done much lately (because of work, being sick and of course having nasty cold weather). This is Gisselles first time to an aquarium where she can actually appreciate the contents. Needless to say we all had a ball! Enjoy the photo’s.
