I had the opportunity to shoot this show for LiveWire Media. I had an absolute BLAST at this show! So many kickass cars and trucks added with the car and truck enthusiasts!
I had a short time frame to visit the Local CARS n COFFEE meet in Virginia Beach before heading to Water Country with the family. I was able to capture a few of the cool rides that came out (I am sure I missed a TON after my super early departure) But it was cool seeing a few rides that I hadn’t seen before at the meet. Hopefully next month I can stay for the majority of the meet.
DOPE Airbrush work!!
I had read about this event via http://www.SumoSpeed.com and decided after getting off work i would check it out. Noticing the weather was seriously overcast and about 35 degrees I highly doubted anyone would actually be there. I had fell behind in time getting my cameras together and getting to the meeting spot. I was extremely shocked and surprised to see a huge parking lot filled with every spectrum of classic muscle to very high end exotics. Due to being so late to this meet I was able to get a few good shots of attendants rides but missed quite a few that rolled out in the midst of my drooling over the massive amount of eye candy.
A cool FR-S Group shot
Suby’s were plentiful and appreciated!!
I have been to a lot of venues across the country and have seen a good amount of Nissan Skyline R34’s. But this is the very first time locally I have seen this Bayside Blue R34 RHD. Very cool to see one locally and up close not owned by a extremely rich person or company. So needless to say i geeked out on this ride the most.
I was a little more excited for this field trip than Selle, hence I finally received my new lenses and this was a great opportunity to test them out. The morning started out stormy with thunder and lots of rain. But by departure time the storm was gone, sun was shining, and the temperatures were warm. Alma and I headed to the school and prepared to jump on the school buses to head toward the zoo (I love using school transportation so I don’t have to drive my own car!)
I was pleased how my lenses worked out, although I ruined a few shots for failing to keep the main lense clean. But all in all the following pictures will showcase the trip.
The kids waiting for the bus:
I am pretty good at catching the floral pics. Not bad with a wide angle lense.
The kiddos invading the Zoo!
The knotty dread goat from out last zoo trip got a buzz cut!
This goat shared my feelings this morning!
Cool little lizard basking on the glass!
The Prairie Dogs were out and very active!
The telephoto lense worked well with this American bison
This lion was basking. And from the news tonight he is going to be a daddy very soon. His lioness was out of picture range keeping cool! Can’t wait til she has her cubs so I can shoot some cool pics of the babies!
Ostrich close up
Some of Gisselle’s classmates waiting to eat lunch in the park.
This little guy Brian is always chatting it up with me everytime I visit Gisselle’s Class. Kinda sad to see him alone on parent involvement days. So I guess you can say he is my little sidekick when I visit. He likes my “big black thing” that takes his picture. Kinda like “magic” he says.
And last goodbye before spring break. Mrs. Hill: Gisselle’s regular bus driver. She is always good to Selle and us with her lookouts!
That was our day. We ALL came home and took well deserved naps!!
This weekend we decided to visit The Norfolk Zoo. The weather was right for it. None of us had ever been there before so we decided to check it out.
A few quick shots while we wait to get to the admission window.
Miley the Build-a-Bear had to come along to see the animals as per Gisselle.
You know spring is here when pretty flowers bloom!
A Peacock decided he would chill and pose for us:
I don’t know what it was but the majority of the animals today all wanted to lay out and take naps..
BY FAR the LARGEST pig I have ever seen!
This cow was chewing its cud as it was sleeping…weird…
Sheep dog meets Billy goat
One of the smallest deers in the world as per the placard on the exhibit
I tried getting several pictures of the indoor animals but do to extremely low lighting and the filthy windows everything came out terrible.
A little American Pride in Animals The American Bison and the Great American Eagle:
A cool train to ride around the Zoo(a WHOPPING 10min ride that cost $2 per person over 2 yrs old). Definitely a cash cow for the Zoo. Full every trip making almost $400 an hour! I need to get in that game!
The meerkats and foxes laying out
I thought this was a cool shot for the day! That is the life!
The Elephants were cool, though I bet they could have used a nice pool to lay in.
This was Gisselle’s HIGHLIGHT of the day.She was talking about Giraffes since we pulled up to the Zoo. She almost had one actually lick her hand but some ignorant kids next to us decided to freak out and start swinging at the Giraffe as it leaned toward the walk way.
There were a few African Bongos running around along with some Antelopes
These birds must have a GREAT Hairdresser!
This Guy just sat in the corner of the exhibit.
All I could think about at this moment was Marc Ecko:
Another fun Day for Gisselle. Something she can talk about at school about her fun weekend trip.
As we ended the day with a Wild Wing Cafe Dinner Gisselle got her shirley temple and mac n cheese…a stoked ending to cool family day!
