The final installment of the Hot Wheels pickups over the last few months. Quite a bunch here to see. Hope you enjoy checking them out as I did shooting them for the blog.
I followed a lucky tip I saw on the internet and located a small business locally that was rumored to have CARS 2 items on the shelves. I hit the location and it was like a bountiful Christmas morning. I wiped out their entire shelved display!
Red and the Double Decker Bus are VERy heavy and feel to be a very solid diecast pieces!
And the Cardback shot
The singles that I found were two different versions one was a regular cardback the second was labeled as checklane and shorter in length. Both you will see pictured. The regular cardback will have the collection number of the vehicle in the lower left hand corner. Checklanes do not have these.
The different cardback versions:
There were also track sets available so I grabbed them as well.
The last few nights have been great for Hot Wheels scores as well as other lines which will show up later. But now is the incredible Hot Whels week I had. I guess all the HW night owls were sleeping….
Basic line stuff:
Short Card Nissan Skyline R32
New Color Datsun Bluebird 510
New Color Amazoom
I also got a couple of Treasure Hunts…All regular versions sadly…
and a few of these….
I had passed by a VERY LARGE box in a local Wal Mart store that had Checklane Hot Wheels 480pcs printed on the side. I tried my best to get into it and score some swag, but no luck. So I followed up the next day and noticed the end cap was still not out, then in investigating, it seems the employees just dumped the cars into rectangular cardboard trays and threw them randomly into the check lanes. 30 minutes later I was able to score 8 Hot Wheel Treasure Hunt GMC Motor Homes. They were all regular short card versions. Not bad for a midnight Wal Mart run.
The new Horizontal Disney CARS 3 packs have started to hit our local Toys R Us stores. I was fortunate to grab 2 of the Mater and Chick Hicks pittys. But as a warning, I KNOW the excitement to grab the NEW stuff overwhelms us all. But pay very close attention to the quality of the interior contents. One of my sets had severe paint chips on the pitty which you will see below and the other was fine. This has been reported across the collector community when these have been found on the shelves. There is no package damage whatsoever, just poor QC and packaging.
And the Chipped set:
