When my friend Melloe Won from Brooklyn Projects approached me about collaborating on a event, I agreed to it even before he could finish his pitch. Melloe and I have worked together before so I knew we could produce a sick event and when you add the legendary Brooklyn Projects to the mix who would say no?! We started to plan a few weeks ago and reached out to some great people to help with the event. Sino Tequila will be pouring their excellent Tequila for those of age in attendance and DJ Wrex will be providing the music to add to the event vibe. Clothing brands Labels and Acrylick are also on board with the event. Together we hope the event on 9/25 will be a memorable one for everyone in attendance. There will be a limited edition tee for sale at the event and Brooklyn Projects will be open for business for those of you that want to pick up some new kicks are denim to go with that limited edition tee! This is an all ages event so if the baby sitter cancels on you, bring the kids! I hope to see you on the 25th! Support those that support you! Jae Bueno

California Clothing pickups

While I was in California it was PRIME TIME to grab up a bunch of Cali fits! A bunch of the clothing lines are exclusive to west coast stores only so I had to make sure to hit those stores and pick up the goods. I hit many stores from The Fast Life, The Hundreds, SURU Street Dreamz, Tilly’s, Pac Sun, Zoomies, The Charger Store, the swapmeet and a few other cool shops and the goods I came up with are here:

While visiting my good friends :The Buenos They were nice enough to let me know about the Mike Giant Rebel 8 signing in Melrose at Barracuda. At this signing Mike Giant was doing a LIVE installation piece during the signing. I got there just as he was started and was in TOTAL awe of the artists profound skill to bust such a HUGE installation with just a few POSCA markers. He also did a few other pieces with aerosol cans.

While I was there watching Mike Giant get busy. Jae Bueno and his Wife Steph were floating around snapping pictures covering the show for Jae’s blog ***JaeBueno.com*** I spied a gentleman I have been following pretty close through his blog and his clothing line for awhile ***ESTEVAN ORIOL**** And Jae knows him pretty well so I played the fanboy and asked Jae and Steph to snap a pic of me with him. He was MAD cool to chit chat with and no super star bullshit from him. A real dude!

And after the event was done I was wandering around to see if I could somehow come up on a few Rebel 8 stickers with no luck. As I turn around I see a familiar face and another behind that one. Low and behold it is Paul Wall ****Solo Rapper**Expensive Taste*** And Skin Head Rob***The Transplants**Expensive taste**. Very cool and shocking to see these gents milling around. Once again fanboy took over so i got a few snaps with Jae Bueno behind the camera.

Los Angeles Graffiti Scene

During my stay on the west coast my friend and I happened across a downtown LA legal graffiti wall. The most recent pieces were done by RISK and MR. CARTOON. I had seen in progress pictures of Toons piece and wanted to check it out while I was there. So this stop that was totally unplanned at the moment due to a GPS issue was quite rewarding. My friend and I spent a good hour in the art district shooting many kick ass graffiti walls. It was truly amazing to see what these artists can do with a can of spray paint, artistic vision, and a large canvas to express their vision.

A few randoms of my Los Angeles x San Diego trip

With my recent trip to the West Coast I was able to hang out with good friends, their families, and new friends. The following posts is a little visual tease of my week back home in California.

The customary picture snap when landing on the west coast:

los ageles arrival

And my partners choice in rental car landed us a 3.5L Dodge Charger. (This car blows ass! Too much weigh that sucks way to much gas. Definitely needed to be a HEMI to have some balls on the road!)

On our way to a friends house we stopped by 3rd and Crescent to visit the Famous Stars and Straps Boutique store “The Fast Life”.

This was the Salon next door. I knew I should have waited on a haircut!

A TOTAL unplanned clothes coordination! My good friend Jae’s Daughter Caila opened the door for me with her mouth open! What a weird coincidence!!

And we ATE a TON of GREAT food while on the west coast! These were the pictures I took while my mouth wasn’t being stuffed!

LOVE some Jack in THE Box TACOS!!!

Gotta have the Horachata/Jamaica machine choice!

I WILL defend IN N OUT BURGERS as long as they keep up their delicious burger making procedures! This is BY far THE BEST burger shops anywhere. It stays way busy at opening until far into the evening! I couldn’t get enough of their 4 x 4’s!

There will be more to follow about my adventures while in California.

This Past Weeks Absence San Diego Comicon Related

As most of my subscribers of this blog and friends alike knew I headed to San Diego last week to attend the San Diego Comicon. I had a family member call me last year telling me that they were able to get me 2 adult 4 day passes for the event. So being stoked off that I made the flight and rental car reservations.

Fast forwarding to last week a co worker and I arrived in San Diego ready to pick the passes up and get the actual passes with our names and bar codes on them. Well we got the straight fucking run around. It seems we planned this trim into a scam. My cousin made some elaborate story as the person who had the passes couldn’t be reached and wasn’t returning phone calls. And the day before she needed $450 to fix her car and the day we inquired about the passes her car was fixed.

So my bat senses told me she had received the passes already and SOLD them and in turn screwed us on this SPECIFIC trip. Without spending too much thought or effort on this shame deal I quickly flew into plan B. Which my following post will be the fruits of that plan. As a whole the trip back home was GREAT. But it would have been top notch if the reason we had came out wasn’t a straight up sham. Fuck now you can’t even trust family….
