2010 San Diego Comicon toy pickups

Even though we got shafted on our San Diego Comicon passes. I was still able to get ahold of some of the exclusives at the show thanks to a good friend that WAS attending. As well as the preorders we placed prior to leaving for the comicon even though we lacked the prerequisite SDCC badges thankfully for an understanding Mattel manager.

I got a cool CARS Toons Poster listing the characters available in the diecast toy line

Disney CARS Tokyo Mater with Diorama

The bottom of the package that shows the operational base on and off switch for the blue under body lighting in the diorama.

Lastly I got Gisselle the Lotso Hugs Bear from the Toy Story 3 movie. This special edition is fuzzy and of course smells like strawberries.

SDCC Disney CARS Rescue Squad Mater,Mia and Tia 3 pack Diorama

I received my SDCC Disney CARS Rescue Squad Mater ,Mia n Tia diorama set a few days ago after a timely wait for them (damn postal system is shitty!) So after work I got them photo’d and put away in a safe place. I totally dig the way the set lights up, but in all honestly I don’t think the set really merits a $30 price tag. But oh well they go that money from me anyway.

2009 SDCC Transformers Soundwave EXCLUSIVE

After waiting for quite awhile I have finally received my SDCC EXCLUSIVE Transformer Sound Wave figure. It includes the Tapes RatBat,Ravage,LazerBeak, and Buzzsaw. I used to have this actual figure as a kid, and lost it shortly after it was given to me. Our family wasn’t well off so there was no replacement. This grasped at my “back in the day” heart strings and I HAD TO HAVE IT. SO I reached my hand out to a friend that attended SDCC and he was able to hook me up with one! GREATNESS!

Kidrobot 2009 6 inch Fatcaps by DEPH SDCC & Regular Version + Toofly Golden ticket Chase

I was able to score a San Diego Comic Convention Kidrobot Fatcap Purple Version designed by Deph. This piece was limited to 200 pieces at the convention only.

I also grabbed the same Fatcap in Green (online version limited to 1200)

I also grabbed a very good deal on a Golden Ticket 6 inch Fatcap Designed by TooFly. (this piece was limited to 400 pieces worldwide)

2009 Disney CARS SDCC Pre Release Information

With Permission from Deano from http://www.carsthetoys.com. I am able to share pictures that I copied off the site of the upcoming San Diego Comic Con exclusive CARS vehicles. Mater has made a landing with Mia and Tia in tow in respectable firehouse mascot Dalmatian print. This release is exclusive to the Comic Convention in San Diego this summer 2009. The sets will be around $30 if I remember correctly and limited to 10K sets or less. Keep an eye out as time gets closer and to ALL WHO READ THIS!!!!!! DO NOT GET SUCKERED INTO PRESALES!!!!! As last years SDCC Lightning Storm McQueen sold HUGE in presales. BUT if you wanted you could snag them very close to retail if not a little over if avoided the GOTTA HAVE IT NOW-ITUS. WAIT IT OUT FOLKS and save some money!

Erick Scarecrow NYCC Medusa Black Mamba release

Erick Scarecrow has definitely been in the lab drawing/creating some sick ass toy designs! His more recent New York Comic Con release of The Medusa Black Mamba release was a STELLAR SELL OUT smash! I was able to get ahold of one from a local collector who decided to let it go for persuits of other things. Kidrobot X Frank Kozik 2007 SDCC Filtered Smokey

Recently Kidrobot.com had a sale for older items and this 2007 SDCC Version of Frank Kozik’s Smokey popped up for sale. As I knew it wouldn’t last long I bought 2 of them. 1 for myself and a friend that super digs Kozik’s Smorkin pieces. shortly after my 2 were confirmed to be shipped he was SOLD OUT…whew guess I beat the rush! I got them monday and have to say, this has to be one fo the most SOLID designs I have received from Kidrobot! The sheer 12 inches of vinyl goodness feels great in your hands and the quality is top notch! And since I do smoke it is kind of an ironic play on me killing myself with cancerous cigarette smoke. This piece was money well spent! (Now i guess I will have to track down the regular non filtered version)
